Plant Today Foundation was founded for the purpose of serving the underserved of the world and providing the basic needs of life including the love and message of Jesus Christ. Israel Hernandez, pastor of a small church in San Pedro Las Huertas, invited Plant Today to explore the needs in his community and discuss ways that Plant Today might partner with him to meet these needs. An exploratory trip has been made, and many needs have been identified. During this trip, we partnered with Pastor Hernandez, Vid Verdadero Church in San Pedro and the founding Pastor Byron Dardon, with several purposes in mind. We took clothing and books and distributed them to the community, we did a community service project to remove dirt from the road, and then provided a free meal afterwards for 400 people. While we were there, we visited with members of the Vid Verdadero congregation, the local village, the mayor, and the city council. While there, we also worked with the church to offer a prayer service for the community.

Our objective on THIS trip was to identify a location and the requirements to build a community center. This center would house an elementary and technical school, a medical clinic and a combination library/computer lab. In addition, the building would be used for after school children’s programs, a permanent meeting location for the church, and classrooms for spiritual development and work training programs – again, a total community center. Our first phase plans to meet the needs in the community will include installing a water purification system, repairing 21 water stations, developing food and clothing programs and building low cost home shelters.

There is no way any one of us could reach our entire world; however, together we can meet the needs of others that may not be met in any other way. We have put the mechanics in place and will do the foot work to reach Guatemala. All we need is your support. Please prayerfully consider partnering with God and us to reach those in our world who may not be receptive to God’s message any other way. With your help, we will be able to carry out God’s command to spread His Word to all the nations. For this long-term outreach in Guatemala to happen and to happen successfully will depend on the partnership of many who are willing to provide financial support. Even more critical, is our need for your prayer support. As a supporter, you become a resource of God and can share in the eternal fruit this ministry will produce. If you are able to help in any way, please go to the “How You Can Help” section on our website at planttoday.org. You can give and you can also go to serve. We pray that God will bless you and we sincerely appreciate your prayerful consideration to support this ministry
